Dr. Sanjay Behari
Dr. Sanjay Behari is a highly accomplished neurosurgeon and the Director of the SCTIMST in Thiruvananthapuram. He previously served as a Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at the prestigious Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences in Lucknow. Dr. Behari’s impressive educational journey includes graduating with honors in Physiology and Pharmacology from S.M.S. Medical College, Jaipur in 1986, Master of Surgery in 1991 and an M.Ch. degree in Neurosurgery from the same institute in 1994. In December 1995, he obtained the Diplomate of the National Board in Neurosurgery. Dr. Behari’s international recognition is evident through the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, UK, and the International Fellowship of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons in the US. Throughout his career, he has received several prestigious awards, such as the Gold Medal and Saral Trophy for being the “Best Outgoing Student” in 1985-1986, the Raghu Sinha Gold Medal for outstanding performance in General Surgery in 1991, and the Chief of Surgery Gold Medal for the best paper in the same year. In 2021, he was honoured with the Fellowship of the Academy of Medical Sciences. Dr. Behari’s dedication to improving neurosurgical procedures and patient care is evident through his involvement in filing seven patents with the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and SCTIMST Trivandrum. His extensive portfolio of international research publications highlights his commitment to advancing the field of neurosurgery. Dr. Behari’s contributions have significantly enriched our understanding of neurosurgical techniques and patient care, making him a prominent figure in the medical community.
